Last Week

Caid Prize Tourney was on Saturday in Camarillo, and it raised over $5000 for the Kingdom. The Sheep to Shawl event was a great success, and Kuma of Corvus was asked by Their Majesties to join the Order of the Chivalry. Congratulations to Lady Delphine who received a Duelist for her skill with rapier and to Don Todde, who won the day on the rapier field.  Thank you to Count Angelo, who stepped in to run the armored combat tournament. Thank you as well to everyone who donated to the raffles and to everyone who bought tickets.

This Week

Festival of the Rose, the twice-yearly celebration of the Arts & Sciences held in honor of Her Majesty, is on Saturday in Bakersfield, CA. Is anyone planning on attending?

On Sunday, there will be an Etching & Enameling Workshop led by Countess Jane and Baron Cormac Mor. The class is full; if you are registered for the class, you should have received an email from Lady Gwen.

Further Away & Other Bits

St. Corrigan’s Day, held August 1-3 and hosted by the Canton of Gallavally , is a camping weekend full of games and merriment. Saturday’s activities include: sack the town, sheep rugby, gnome tossing, hunkerhouser, bouncy jousting, bowling (bring your favorite wooden bowls!), youth activities, and of course the now famous and traditional St. Corrigan’s Annual Raffle (raffle items most happily accepted). See https://www.facebook.com/events/1465380487007378/ for more details.

Pre-registration for Great Western War (October 8-13 in Wintermist/Taft, CA) is available until August 31st.  Have you pre-registered yet? There is an Isles camp that’s open to all residents and friends of Isles.  http://caid-gww.org/
