Last Week

Fall Coronation and Queen’s Champion were last weekend in the Barony of Dun Or.

  • Their Majesties Conrad II and A’isha were crowned King and Queen of Caid.
  • Hearty congratulations are due to The Honorable Lady Mora Ottavia Spadera, the new Queen’s Rapier Champion. She prevailed over Don Oliver Dogberry and Don Michael Mallory in a three-way final.
  • For more information, talk to Delphine, Paul, and Gwen (both events) or Mora and Todde (QC).

Shire Business Meeting

From the Seneschal (Lord Lodovico of the Isles):
  • Crown Prize Tourney: We received a very nice thank you note from Their Majesties Sven and Cassandra (see below).
  • New Royals: Their Majesties have asked that all participants in tournaments during Their reign compete for the honor of a person who inspires them that day. (If you don’t have someone to compete for at an event, They will help you find someone the day of). They also want, as part of the Joy Initiative, for people to point out members of populace who are helping make the Game fun for others.
  • The Shed: No news from Graham on the shed. If we want to get a new shed, what are our needs? Lodovico will see if Magnus has an inventory. It might be time to do another Shed Day.
  • Fighter Practices: Fighter practices are moving half an hour earlier, to 7 PM.
  • Populace Badge: We are submitting an alternate, fieldless version of the Isles populace badge for people to use if they want to omit the barry wavy argent and azure.

Other Officer Reports

  • Exchequer (Lady Delphine de Montaillou): We have money. If you buy stuff for Isles Anniversary, get a receipt or make an invoice.
  • Arts & Sciences (Lady Gwen Hir): Glass bead making workshop (for Isle Anniversary site tokens) was last month. Look for an announcement for a gift/largesse-making workshop soon if we can figure out something we’d like to present to Their Majesties. No other classes scheduled yet for November so that all our energies can be focused on Anniversary.  There will be an Arts & Sciences display at Anniversary – please bring something you’ve done or are working on to show off.  If you took a class at Great Western War, enjoyed it, and would like to share it with your fellow Islesians, tell Gwen.
  • Chatelaine (Countess Jane Corwin): Expect newbies at Isles Anniversary: Jane will be contacting a bunch of people she has emails from. She will likely send out a reminder of “how to act around new people.” Her Majesty has expressed a desire to be introduced to new/prospective people.
  • Quartermaster & Webwright (Magnus Brewhouse): We have stuff. Magnus is still trying to get all the Kingdom-level access he needs, but Lucius has been able to help him with everything he has needed so far. (Thanks, Lucius!)

Isles Anniversary: It’s happening on November 18th at Stow Grove Park. The theme is “Revenge.” Delphine is the Event Steward. She still needs:

  • People to show up early to claim the site and help set up,
  • People to run Gate,
  • People to run the Arts and Sciences display,
  • People to serve lunch,
  • People to run games, and
  • People to help tear down.

This Week

Calafia and Naevejhem Anniveraries are this weekend. Is anyone going?
