Last Week

Caid Rapier Open was last Saturday in at Stow Grove Park.

  • Congratulations to Don Laertes McBride, who emerged victorious in the finals over Don Colwyn Stagghorn. Congratulations as well to Don Avenel Kellough, who won the Cut & Thrust showcase, and to Garrick Thomas Atwell, who advanced the furthest of any of the un-Scarved fighters.
  • At opening court, The Honorable Lady Mora Ottavia Spadera was inducted into the Vanguard of Honor, in recognition of her outstanding honorable and chivalric actions upon the tournament field.
  • Many thanks to Don Todde for serving as Event Steward and to everyone who helped out.

This Week

Given that this is the first week of classes at UCSB, there will be an Impromptu Demo/Info Session on Wednesday at this week’s fighter practices. From Lady Delphine:

I know this is short notice, and I apologize, but there has been some discussion of an impromptu demo/more garbed and info-giving session for this week’s fighter practice, and I’ve gotten confirmation from my contact in the residence halls that he will promote us to the students.  We may just have more new people wandering by, and in case we do,  If you think you can make it, please come, and if you have anything pretty you’d like to show off, bring it with!  Around 7:30 is what I was thinking, since that seems to be about the time most people get there.

Please come by and help!

War is Coming!

Great Western War is next week.

  • If you’re thinking about going but didn’t pre-register, let Campmaster Lady Ylaria know to save space in the Isles camp for you.
  • Schedules for Armored Combat and Rapier Combat are posted.
  • The schedule of Arts & Sciences class being taught is now available.  There’s also information about various A&S competitions happening at war.
